    Web-based portal with relevant and evidence-based information on the assessment and management of common clinical conditions including referral guidance, Opioid Replacement Therapy (ORT) and management of opioid withdrawal. Currently only available in the EMPHN catchment.

Education and training

Access to opioid pharmacotherapy training including:

  • MATOD accreditation training – run by the RACGP for GPs, Nurse Practitioners and eligible medical and health practitioners.
  • MATOD Clinical Placement – a reimbursed program designed to provide newly-accredited prescribers with the confidence and skills necessary to start prescribing
  • Victorian Pharmacy Pharmacotherapy Training Program – run by PSA. Parts 1 and 2 conducted online or face-to-face
  • LAIB accreditation training – Part 3 of the VOPP is a 2-hour online course which is a core component of Pharmacist-led administration of long-acting injectable buprenorphine.
  • Practice Manager Training – ORT and AOD. Face-to-face training for whole-of-practice support, including Medicare billing advice
  • General Practice and pharmacy staff education and training, locally based.  Includes:
    • Community of Practice events delivered by AMS and other expert speakers. RACGP QI&CPD points apply
    • Peer Group Learning meetings (Eligible for CPD hours) facilitated by AMS and experienced prescribers and pharmacists
